You "No Longer" have to suffer from Dental Anxiety and Dental Fear!
You can stay calm, comfortable and in control with Sedation Dentistry.
• Are you afraid of going to the dentist?
• Has it been a long time since your last dental appointment?
• Do you have sensitive teeth or gums?
• Are you immune to traditional methods of numbing techniques?
If you answered 'Yes", then dental sedation is for you.
You are a candidate for Sedation Dentistry if:
• You have a busy schedule and the treatment can be completed in one or two visits
• You start to get anxious when someone even mentions "The Dentist"
• Previous traumatic dental experiences
• Bad gag reflex
• Complex dental problems
• A fear of needles and shots
• A hatred of noises, smells, and tastes associated with dental care
• Embarrassment about their teeth
Are you embarrassed to smile or open your mouth because of the long term affects of having to avoid the dental office for so long due to fear? Has this led to bad breath, bleeding gums, missing teeth, unattractive smile, or ill-fitting flippers, dentures or partials?
If you have been told during dental treatment that you would "just have to deal with it" or were treated as if your fear was something you had control over and it was your problem instead of the dentist's to find you a solution to dental fear, you should come in and see us. We can always figure out ways that sedation dentistry can solve anxiety and dread so you can have comfortable care with today's techniques.
Nearly half of the people in the U.S. are missing teeth or have advanced gum and bone infections due to avoiding dental care out of fear. Most are unaware that these new developments in sedation dentistry and doctors such as Dr. Moradi and Dr. Heidari can improve their health thanks to the technique.
Sedation Dentistry allows even the most fearful to get comfortable dental care and experience restored chewing, improved appearance, an end to embarrassment, and an increase in self-confidence.
Simply put, sedation dentistry is using a combination of techniques that safely and comfortably allow you to virtually "snooze" through your dental visit. It is a real breakthrough and we offer both oral sedation dentistry and IV intravenous sedation dentistry techniques here at our office in Aptos.
Today sedation dentistry is the best method of getting your care completed. Because of the technique's proven success, it is recommended for those who truly are desperate to get comfortable and be dentally healthy again, but regrettably have had to put things off simply because they didn't know there was a solution. Because of proven success, sedation dentistry is the answer to dental fear.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation is an effective solution for most people who fear the dentist and have a moderate amount of dental anxiety. It is a low cost method that is safe and is as easy as swallowing a pill. The overall effect is not as profound as IV intravenous sedation, but for most people, there will be enough relaxation with little recollection of the dental procedure. The most common medication for adult oral sedation is Halcion and the most common for children is Versed.
IV Sedation
Intravenous dental sedation is administered directly into the blood stream by our on-site certified anesthesiologist. One of the greatest advantages with IV sedation is that the patient can achieve a deeper state of relaxation than with oral sedation. Also, if at any time the patient is not relaxed enough, the anesthesiologist can easily administer more medication, which will have an instantaneous effect. The drugs used for IV Sedation are more effective than if the same drugs are taken orally and there will be no recollection of the dental procedure.
